Today is Day 10 of doing KETO. Tracking my macros, meal planning and prepping to stay ahead of hunger or cravings. There has not been much of a struggle with either of those. On Saturday, I felt more tired and achy but rest helped and have been sleeping better and waking more alert and feeling good. Walked over the weekend and plan to do more of that.(My passion, especially outdoors) Winter makes it tricky, but I can exercise indoors with the machines we have. Just have to do it!

Hubby lost 7 pounds and is also feeling great. I like intermittent fasting and am able to do it during the week when he's not home during the day. Eating the fat is so key to this plan, it goes against so much we have been told to do in the past. fat is not bad as long as sugar and white flour etc., is not consumed with it. Metabolic diets are great, but you have to remember what is allowed otherwise your efforts are thwarted. Have a great day everyone. I enjoy the photos of keto friendly meals, they inspire me!

Spent some time reading journal entries and getting to know everyone again. Each diet or way of eating and activity preferences are so varied and results vary from person to person. There is no one simple answer to all of our questions. Trial and error my friends and learn from our mistakes. Do what you can with what you have... keep trying, don't beat yourself up, Know who you are and if you don't, take the time to find out.

Establish a healthy relationship with food. It is not the enemy, how we think about it is. Dieting is not new to me. I was a chubby preteen and started counting calories at 10 or 11...becoming obsessed with everything I ate or didn't eat. Was a fairly thin teen and then yo-yo-ed thru my twenties and bingeing into my thirties then obsessively working out...from one extreme to another.

Try and make peace with food. Eat when you are hungry, stop when you are full. Most of all, love yourself. Good luck! In the past few years I was able to lose 40 pounds and kept most of them off for 4 years. They have been creeping back on and the older I get, the more they need to come off. Whatever your reasons or motivations lets get this done!

I am back! been away for 140 days. Life and bad choices was taking its toll on me. Physically, I have been fine-ish… ;) ! Had some real struggles with depression. My dad is living with us now since April and that makes two elderly folks to care for. My mother in law is 97 and mentally and physically weak and dad is 91 and physically a wreck but sharp mentally. I have to dress and clean and do just about everything for him. Like a 130 pound toddler. Same with my mother in law. I know in my heart we are doing the right thing. My husband is excellent and helps all he can. He still works full time, I only work 5 or 6 hours a week outside the home. All in all, ready to take care of myself. Started KETO with hubby a few days ago and we are feeling real good. The tools and support here is always AMAZING!

Hello! Been gone far too long. Really no time for myself, BUT I am taking care of myself. Weight crept up a few, but it'll go just as slowly or quickly as it usually does. Taking care of two aging parents is ridiculously hard. Both need physical assistance (especially my father) and my mother in law's mental state is slipping more and more.
I have been dedicated to walking/strolling for about an hour every evening. Makes my body feel good and I sleep better. Sometimes I NEED a mojito in the afternoon to take the edge off...but I definitely WATCH THAT...I know happiness is not found in a cocktail. or even a vacation....cuz when you come back...you return to all the work and responsibilities. We did get away to Hawaii to be a part of our oldest son's wedding and we shared a beach house. GLORIOUS!
So much is good in my life and I have to remember that! A new grandson is expected around Thanksgiving from our youngest son! So much going on and I am sure all of you have so much to share. I hope to allot some time to catch up. Best wishes to my fat secret family!
