I've been heavy my whole life. I've tried many diets, just to yoyo back to my original weight, if not gain more. It is a real challenge living with 3 men(my husband and my boys) who like their meat, potatoes and veggies and dessert! You wouldn't know it by looking at them! I am a pretty good cook and love cooking for them, but it's hard to not eat what I've cooked for them, if not for any other reason than to save the time it takes to prepare something else for myself.
I have a lot of weight to lose! I'd love to be 100 lbs lighter, but I need to be a little more realistic, and set some smaller goals until I get that far, so I don't get discouraged. Low carb is the only diet that has ever worked for me, but I give in, and gain what I've lost back. I need to lose it, and make this a lifestyle change if I'm going to keep it off. I love salads and fresh veggies, and we buy very few processed foods. Half of the year, I have my own veggies from my garden. I grow an amazing garden full of veggies, that my family and I really enjoy. What we can't eat, I can for the winter months.
It's time to do this, and stick to it!
