Feeling frustrated today as I’ve had no weight loss since starting back up a week ago, I’ve decided to put it all out there with images. I want to see if my body changes even if weight is not coming off. So drum roll please.......here they are! I carry most of my weight in my gut so wearing revealing clothes like I have on in these pictures is out for me. Also, I’ve had a few friends tell me I’m not fat. It’s very frustrating to hear that because I know I’m over weight and have always struggled with weight since childhood. No, I may not have to lose 100lbs, but that doesn’t mean I’m not struggling with my weight. 😢😢😢

Feeling frustrated today. Not really loosing any weight in the first week even though my carbs and caloric intake are low. The only benefit I’ve seen is my daily insulin has been cut in half. I’m not giving up but boy, those words my mother has been telling me about “loosing weight gets hard after 50” is ringing true and it sucks! 😡😡😡

Almond flour pancakes with sugar free low calorie syrup and basic scrabbled eggs. It hit the spot for my weekend favorite meal 😊. However, used up more calories than typical so lunch will have to be less.

Just made this for my husband and he loved it. Also cooked it for 30 more seconds in the microwave and then toasted it. Added a tbsp of mayonnaise, 1/4 cup of power greens and 4oz sliced ribeye on top for a hearty meal 😁

So I’m down one pound today but have decided I am not going to record my weight but once a week. I’ll continue to watch daily just for a little motivation and/or to keep me on track when I see it climb too much.
However, more about my new journey....
Besides needing to get healthy due to my medical condition, my husband, who is also a recent insulin diabetic (2 yrs) wants to have the Bariatric Surgery. I’m against this as I really believe with proper eating and daily movement he can reach a healthy goal and get off insulin. No need to risk surgery and completely change his lifestyle for good. The good news is our Kaiser insurance requires patients go through a 12 week program where they must go to class once per week and must lose 10% of their weight before surgery. This shows that they are committed to a lifestyle change and also is a safer surgery. With that said, I’m am in total support of the food change and am on this weight loss 12 week program with him. Only 4 days into this he has lost 10lbs and has not needed insulin for 3 of those days! Unbelievable! I’ll admit it’s frustrating to me as I’ve eaten the same foods, if not less than him, but still need my insulin 😳😢. His weight started at 280.
Last night was our first neighborhood walk together. It was nice to get out and just enjoy the pretty houses in our neighborhood. We plan to walk a minimum of three days per week. We have set our goals as follows: agreed 3 days we would “meet” our goal; if we walk 5 days we would “exceed”; and 7 days we would be “exceptional”. As we are both kind of competitive it’ll be interesting to see how we do 😊
Today is also our “cheat meal” day. We are going out with a group of our friends tonight for Italian 😳😳😳. He’s dying for Spaghetti and I need a garlic bread fix. I’m hoping to have one piece only with a plate of protein and no pasta. Wish us both luck!
