My hips and hamstrings are a bit stiff this morning, I suppose from my very successful jog yesterday morning. I noticed my calves were a little sore last night but that's disappeared. I've decided to delay my workout until my lunch break today so my sporadic walking around the house during my work morning might loosen things up a bit. No matter what, I will WILL work out at lunch.

Good morning to all my new friends out there! I pushed those buttons on that treadmill again: the hated slow jogging program I tried for the first time last week. This time I did better and almost finished it without walking---but not quite: three different times I had to walk, but I counted about 2:05 minutes total of walking when I should have been jogging. I kept distracting myself from looking at the time left, which ALWAYS makes me lose any zip I currently feel. Next time I'm throwing a towel over the timer when I use this program. And I'll admit I do feel really good right now. could it be the fabled runner's high after only two attempts? Maybe it's more from the shower afterwards than the effort...:)

Argh, I just couldn't do it: I ended up exercising during my lunch break instead of not exercising at all. I found myself smiling at the start of my spontaneous workout, so it really was meant to be! And I felt good at the start, during and after. That happiness confirms it: back to working out early in the morning. Fine by me!

I haven't exercised since last Thursday morning. It was a nice break but I know it just makes it a little tougher to get motivated to re-start. Tomorrow, tomorrow, tomorrow.

GOD I HATE JOGGING! I see absolutely no point in just 'going for a run' just because. Unless it involves a bus, a chase or a race, I'm not interested. So, to jump over this mental hurdle, I PURPOSELY chose a treadmill program that included light, slow jogging for most of the 30-minute program. Knowing I weigh less now and with Billy Currington singing sweet nothings in my ear, I jogged and jogged until my runners started scuffing the belt and I knew I was getting pooped out. So I slowed down to a fast walk (4.5 mph) for about 5 minutes or so, then resumed the jogging portion. There were only a few minutes left, thank God. I finished!! I still hate jogging though.
