I can't believe I just unchecked the privacy feature of this journal. But then I can't believe I've let myself gain 18 pounds since November! Atkins was really helping me control my blood sugar and all my other numbers so why did I stop? I was so happy to see the scale drop under 300. In fact, I thought it was an error code! It must be some strange type of self destructive behavior. Maybe instead of keeping my fight with weight control secret (how do you hide 315 pounds anyway?) I can share with others and gain the strength to stick it out this time.

You can do it! I too am a diabetic and atkins has helped me a lot. I went from 7.4 to a recent 6.2 - almost in the 5's!

Thank you so much squigglywiggly. You already made me feel better about not doing this thing in private. I too was down to a 6.2 and now am up to 7.2. Not the right direction at all! I read your profile and saw you are in NZ. My husband was there last year on an adventure tour and fell in love with the place. He was shocked to see the aftermath of the earthquake. We put up media pictures and his vacation shots and it was horrid to compare. I hope your country recovers quickly. We sent what we could afford but it is just a drop in a very deep bucket.

Trust me I have a lot of..why did I eat that, what was I thinking and omg how did I gain so much!! But I have found if I dwell on it - I will never get over it. So I just have to say - yup I did it now I can change it!! Put the past in the past...and let's get moving on to a new beginning!! The members are very helpful and I'm here for you if you need some help.

You're not alone in doing well on Atkins, leaving Atkins, and then gaining weight. If you begin reading any of the bios on this site, you'll see a number of us have been where you are. Eventually, you'll figure out the "why," but for now, just give yourself credit for taking the steps you've just taken to change "your story." Re-commit to doing a clean Induction for 2 weeks (sorry, no more dried cranberries!) and you'll be moving right along again. Focus on the future and give this new journey your best efforts. Log all your food so you can catch any issues that might arise. Lots of friendly folks here to cheer you on and celebrate each and every pound you're going to drop! Good luck!
