ok, maybe I shouldn't weigh myself daily. my numbers were close to perfect yesterday and yet I weigh .8 lbs more today. I know it's not really possible but then, why do I believe it when the scale says I lost .8 lbs overnight? ; )

Oh...lovely pre-menopausal stuff. Think I know why I "gained" .8 lbs overnight. : )

You are going to drive yourself nuts if you try to analyze every pound gained or lost. Our bodies are made up of 60% water, so the daily fluctuations are normal. Eating too much sodium one day will show a gain the next. Sore muscles from exercise, medications, stress, hormones, etc can all effect our bodies and water weight. As long as you stay on plan, you should be fine. Weight loss is cumulative. It's not what do you over one day that counts, it's what you do over a period of time. Some people stay the same weight for a week, then drop 4 pounds. As long as your chart has a mostly downward spiral, you are doing fine. Weighing daily is fine, as long as it doesn't bother you. If it does, just weigh every few days to see how it's going.

Hi Suzi, Yeah, I know you're right about the fluctuations. What bugs me with them is it may take a week just to get back where I was on the scale as of yesterday. At least if my history over the last 60 days is any indication. That's why I get upset. If I were up most of a pound overnight, and then were to be back at my previous weight in a day or two and continue losing from there, it wouldn't bug me so much. But this happened a couple of weeks ago and I think it took 10 days or more to just get back to that number. Just sort of feels like I take four steps forward and then three backwards. I just did the math and over the last 30 days, I'm not even averaging a one pound per week weight loss. And I'm working out pretty hard 6 days a week, generally, and averaging just under 1275 calories a day for the month, too. It is what it is, but it's also frustrating. Wouldn't be so bad if I knew I was cheating : ) But yeah, you're right. I think I'll try weighing myself two or three times a week instead of daily. Thanks for the input : )
