this is insane. impossible. I want to scream. what the hell is going on?? this was my weight 10 days ago. I've worked out 9 of those days and averaged about 1225 calories a day! I drank nearly 10 cups of water and two cups of green tea and no wine and yesterday not too many carbs! two more weeks of this and I'll see if I can see Linda's doc. this is bullshit.

Well, your diet is very healthy and your caloric intake seems good. Have you noticed your clothes feeling more loose? Have you taken your measurements? I can think of two things which would can effect your weight. If you are new to all the working out, your muscles may be retaining water to help them heal (they get little tears from exercise). This can show as a gain on the scale or no loss sometimes. The other thing is sometimes when we exercise a lot, our bodies lose fat/inches, but you don't see it on the scale right away. I had a friend who didn't see the scale move for four months, but went down 4 sizes. Genetics play a role in how we lose fat. If you notice your clothes fitting better, than you know your diet is working. If you don't see any difference over the next couple of weeks (scale or clothes), it might be good to have it checked out. You are doing everything right, so it should show somewhere. Good luck!

Suzi161 First off, thanks for your impute. Let me add, though, that I just uploaded my info from my phone app, not realizing it was all going public. : ) I would have censored my comments a bit better. My clothes are fitting better and I've lost almost 2 1/2" from my waist since Dec. 29th. So yes, I know it's doing something, and I'm not trying to get hung up on numbers, but the number is so huge I have a problem seeing it stay where it is. I'm trying to drink 8 - 10 glasses of water a day, am now adding a cup or two of green tea, and I've slowly switched over to mainly whole foods, organic when possible, and about the only "bad" thing I'm eating now is a Premier Nutrition protein bar. And I say "bad" since it's processed and has ingredients not found in nature. I'm even (gasp) giving up my nearly nightly glass of wine for the most part. Thanks for letting me know about your friend whose scale didn't budge for four months. That seems an eternity to me, but it always helps to know you're not alone in something. Thanks for your encouragement. It helps. Venting also helps : ) In answer to your question, yeah, I'm new to working out. At least in the sense it's been well over a year since I've done any real exercise. I'm doing Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred and have added Level 1 and 3 from the Biggest Loser Body Sculpt (which adds an additional 30 minutes of hard core - to me- work out), or will do another of Jillian's DVD's, No More Trouble Zones. All in all, about an hour of sweating, difficult work out. I'll consider doing plyometrics, such as P90X, if my knees ever feel close to normal! I'm in no way going to give up. I'm just curious if anyone out there has had this same type of scenario. A few more weeks of this without the scale budging and I'm making an appt. with an endocrinologist. At my age, it could very well be hormonal, too. Again, thanks for "listening" and for your impute. Best of luck to you, as well.
