Okay, so my husband and I dropped off for SEVERAL weeks, but we are back now. We have decided to start over at Phase I. The difference this time is that I am now exercising,whereas before, I was not. My husband's job requires him to lift, bend, stoop and walk up and down stairs throughout the day, so he was doing good anyway.
Unfortunately, we started off really well yesterday, but today, we had a serious need for some ice cream. We remained smart though, and at least chose low-fat ice cream/frozen yogurt.

Ok - we cheated.. the book says to NOT look at a scale until Day 10.. we looked at the scale yesterday, and he's lost 5 lbs, and I've lost 4 lbs!!! We are TOO excited! We called members of our family who know that we are dieting and got some really good motivation and encouragement from them to continue on.
The recipes we get from this website are great. If there's anything in them we can't have, we just modify the recipe a bit. So far so good! Both my husband and I do feel that our bodies are changing for the better. We took a good, long walk yesterday, and felt more energized afterwards. We went to eat at a local LaShish and had salad, as well as veggies and baba ghanooj to treat ourselves. I weighed myself again this morning, just to be sure that we hadn't made a mistake, and I'm still down the 4 lbs :-)
Next Thursday we are done with Phase I.. we can't wait to eat some meat!
