Steps yesterday: 247 (SmartHealth watch); 919 (Withings Pulse). Note the difference.
BPM: 90
Blood oxygen level: 100%
I continue to hit my hydration and protein marks. I cut back on the sugar in my tea by one teaspoon per serving.
Did three sets on the stepper yesterday to make up for missed sessions. I've now done a week of one set daily so this week I increase to two sets a day.
Looked at the timeline for the first week of using my new fitness tracker: shows me exercising for three minutes last week despite an hour a day of cardio. Obviously, the Withings Pulse needs improving when it comes to accuracy and sensitivity. I'm not giving up on quantifying health.

Blew my sleep hygiene by staying up way late - three hours - last night and sleeping in.

Sleep efficiency: 95% (Sleep Better app).
Steps yesterday: 1,116 (SmartHealth watch); 1,996 (Withings Pulse).
BPM: 103.
Blood oxygen level:98%.
A glitch in the Withings Pulse sleep tracking mode: my understanding was that the Pulse stopped tracking sleep when you removed it from the armband. I had to turn mine off manually because it was still in sleep mode after walking around. I can see the convenience of a fitness tracker that you wear on your wrist 24-7.
A third of the people using fitness trackers stop in six months to a year. Anything that makes the experience less easy contributes to that. The ideal is a seamless experience that blends into the background.
The problem with fitness trackers: you can read all the reviews you want, but there is no substitute for hands on experience. I assume that explains why so many Amazon reviewers have owned so many different brands - that and the high loss rate.
Got my Black Friday on and bought an HP Stream 7 tablet. Xbox Music is giving 100 albums by big name artists away and selling $35 boxed sets for $2. Plus you get a year's subscription to Microsoft Office and a terabyte of storage so the Stream pays for itself.
Relaxation: 25 minute nap.

Fifty-nine degrees in the bedroom this morning - coldest it's been this winter.
Now recording my food diary in MyFitnessPal. Syncs with the Withings Pulse and tells you when you meet or exceed goals (protein, salt, sugar, etc.)
For the second time, found the Pulse on the floor next to the sink. This time, the Pulse popped out of the clip instead of the entire unit falling off the belt.
Tried adding psyllium to my tea to boost fiber, but wound up with a lot of goop at the bottom of the cup. Will next try smaller amount.
I'm closing in on my goal weight, but I am sticking with FatSecret because losing weight is only half the battle.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
BPM: 74.
Blood oxygen level: 99%.
Steps yesterday: 1,268 (SmartHealth watch); 300 (Withings Pulse).
Sleep efficiency: 88 percent.
The Withings Pulse fell off my belt in the kitchen. The clip is secure enough - as long as you seat it proprly. That's the problem with clip-on pedometers and trackers. If it drops at home, you have a shot at finding it. Elsewhere, fuhgeddaboutit. Not as bad as losing a smartphone, but $100 is $100 (or in my case, $90 -I had a coupon). Makes me wonder if buying the $15 wristband is a good idea.
Withings has an entire ecosystem of devices, including a scale, blood pressure monitor, and a sleep tracker. Reviews for the scale and monitor are good; for the sleep tracker, not so much. For $300, I expect it to serve me breakfast in bed as well as track my sleep.
