Hello FatSecreters! I'm Jess... I'm 33 yrs old, happily married, and have two beautiful boys (14 & 5 yrs old). I love Jehovah, and although I'm far from perfect, I try my best to live up to His standards. I came across this site while trying to find ideas on how to lose weight, and it has turned out to be the best tool yet in my weight loss journey.

Now for the health stuff... I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism in March 2012, and ever since then I have continually packed on the weight. I started out at 140 and now I'm up to 192, which makes me miserable! I'm tired all the time, always stressed out, and have zero energy, which makes it hard to get motivated to exercise. I've read that hypo patients do well on low carb diets, so I'm doing Atkins. I have a huge sweet tooth so I know it's going to be rough at first, but I'm determined to lose this weight! I'm just gonna take it one day at a time :)

Update 5/1/16: Current weight, 160 lbs... Low carb seems to be the most effective way (for me) to lose weight. I've cut sugar and gluten from my diet, and the difference is amazing. Not only am I losing weight, I also have more energy and less brain fog. My skin is much clearer as well.
