I am a 51 year old woman, that has suffered with morbid obesity for many years.
I recently had Gastric Bypass Surgery (RNY), on December 10th, 2014.
I had numerous health problems, and was not able to walk or stand for more than 10 minutes due to severe spinal stenosis, and degenerative disc disease, along with end stage arthritis in my left knee and left hip.
I was unable to exercise, and since I was not always following a diet, my weight kept going up and up.
Last January 2013, I was hospitalized for 4 days, with COPD, and Congestive Heart Failure. I was in a regular room the 1st night, and then rushed to ICU, with respiratory and heart issues. I stayed in ICU for 2 days.
I ended up with the diagnosis of CONGESTIVE HEART FAILURE, COPD, and had severe edema, and fluid.
Upon my release, I had lost 30 pounds of fluid.
I started on a low sodium, low fat diet, upon arriving home from the hospital. I started to lose some weight.
I researched Gastric Bypass Surgery and met with a bariatric surgeon, and I ended up having my surgery, as I said, on December 10th, 2013.
Prior to my surgery, 8 days before, I weighed in on Dec 2nd, 2013.
As of yesterday, I have now lost 34 pounds in 31 days!
I have just joined this group, and love the idea, that I can post, support others, and share recipes, along with tracking my food intake, and my caloric information.
I hope to talk with some of you, and wish you all continued success in your weight loss journey!
