I'm determined to get healthier. That's my goal. So far I've lost a total of 72 lbs since I started. I got to a comfortable weight and I have been completely cigarette free for a week now. When I first decided to "quit" smoking I went from 1 to 1 1/2 packs a day to 3-4 cigarettes a day. Don't get me wrong, that was great for me. But those couple of cigarettes lead to me wanting more. So I decided that if I'm going to do it I will so it right. I haven't had a cigarette in a week. I think its harder than losing weight. Dear god I want to eat like a horse. But I'm trying to work around that. I will get this out of my system and focus again on losing weight. I've started working out a little more especially when I get cravings. I feel soooooooo much better. The weight gain is so worth quitting. But I try to keep in my head that I still have control over that. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Happy Easter to all!!🐰

Best Wishes! You have my support! My mom smoked. My dad quit the day I was born. I never (voluntarily) smoked. When I was five, my mom quit. One day, my dad came home and threw a carton of cigarettes at her saying, "You've been terrifying the children!" (He may have said other things, too.) She did not try quitting again until after her stoke some 30 years later. The nursing home didn't allow smoking.

You are right, quitting smoking is harder, at least it was for me. I smoked for 30 years and went cold turkey, and boy was it ever hard. I'm so thankful that I stuck through it and the weight loss. It is so worth it. You are so worth it. I now some trade in their cigarettes for food, and really are no better off because the extra hundred puunds will put them in a pine box equally fast.

Happy Easter to you too, that’s so good that you haven’t had a smoke for a week, I haven’t had one for 38 years but must say having a heart attack at 27 seems to make you stop. Anyway what I really wanted to tell you is my hubby gave up 8 years ago he was a very heavy smoker it was hard for him but he did it so give it your best shot. All the best to you

You are right. From what I have seen with friends and as a nurse, tobacco is more addicting than food, or dope for that matter. I am so proud you have quit and it is definitely worth it. Hang in there! You are doing great! Have a blessed Easter!

Congratulations on the quitting smoking. I know how it feels. 1 year for me in Feb. I did that before the weight loss. I only can do it one at a time. I knew I could not exercise if I could not breathe. You can do it. I enjoyed smoking but I am glad I quit. I feel so much better. Good luck.

If you would like I can help with the smoking problem. First you write 2 letters. They MUST BE IN YOUR HANDWRITING NO COMPUTER Generated letter! #1 letter is to yourself Apologizing to yourself for all the damage you have caused by smoking be detailed and explicit. #2 is a letter to those you love by name... apologizing to them for the many ills of smoking, i.e. the bad example the health consequences for those around you and for (if you continue to smoke the long time and terrible way you will die) letters complete. pick a day have ONE place only you can smoke at home not in the house and NOT COMFORTABLE. Make copies of those letters one for the car one for purse or pocket one for by the bed.. any place you commonly want a smoke. on the chosen day when you get out of bed and want that morning smoke you have to read the first letter then the second then try to wait a while then, go smoke. It does not sound like quitting but what this does is slowly reprogram you. You want to smoke less and less be consistent with the letters read them every time you want a smoke soon you will notice you only need to read the first letter and you can wait hours before you need that smoke and when you read the second letter before you smoke it you can wait longer... I used this on myself it was painless (ish) and I managed small goals one at a time. 5 minutes then 10 then 30 etc. It really does work AAANNNDDD I saved you $399 for the seminar. The reason it MUST be in your handwriting is that you addiction will allow you to dismiss it, if it is a printed type letter and it is your writing it makes a bigger impact your addiction can not deny it is yours. Need more support? PM me. Ill be glad to help. R Berg RRT.

I quit smoking the same day I started dieting! Haven’t had a cigarette since, and yes keeping your mind distracted helps SO MUCH! It’s a lot like fighting a food craving. I did get a vape to help in the beginning but now I use it like maybe once a week or when we are in a social setting (ALL of our friends smoke), it’s helped greatly for us (My boyfriend quit with me, I’m more surprised he’s stuck with it).

You are doing it the right way...both the food and the nicotine are addictions, might as well get rid of both at the same time. I did them at the same time and while I have flip-flopped on my weight some I have not smoked in in over 20 years.

Congratulations on your decision to stop smoking! Great Job so far....looking forward to your success story. Not only are you helping yourself to get healthier, but your saving a money! Although I am not a smoker, many family or friends do, from what I've seen or learned --smoking can be expensive..... Here is to wishing you much success.
