That is straight black, the foam you see on top is made when the coffee first starts to drip, you take a couple drops and mix it with the sugar vigorously, it turns into that yummy foam!!! 

We used to make espresso on the stove in one of those when I was a kid. 😋 I also used to grind the coffee by hand in a wooden grinder! The coffee fell into a little drawer in front. The whole experience/ ritual and aroma just pervades your essence making coffee by hand like that. 😊 Thanks for sharing and evolving that memory! 👍 

That's so cool Blue!! I grew up grinding coffee and making it for my family as a young girl. Once I learned to make it perfectly. I was told I was ready for marriage!! 😂 nowadays I don't grind it but I sure do brew it a whole lot,4-5 times a day!!! 

I live in Florida and love the Cuban Coffee. Only time I can find it is when I go down to Miami. 

Jenibean- how do you make your coffee these days? I've gotten so busy, I only brew it by hand maybe once every few months or so. At least I still drink from locally roasted beans daily. 😉 

I wrote "evolking" spell check changed it to evolving..grr... 

I mean to use the classic old school brewer daily? 

I use an espresso maker just like that....  

Trucker, I'm in Miami, it's everywhere here!! Blue, I do it just like the picture! I buy ground Cuban coffee (Bustelo) and use this old school stovetop method!!

Jena, it's also very elegant. I love the coffee cup. You savor the aroma when your brewing your coffee. I don't drink coffee but I'm drawn to the aroma.

I inherited my dad's espresso machine, and it's still in the cabinet! I need to start using it. That looks amazing :)

I use a similar espresso machine but I have never had so much foam, it looks so tasty o: How do you do it?
