Today was the final part of orientation at my new job. I started the day out well with chicken and broccoli soup, water, and peppermint tea. For lunch I went to a Chinese restaurant, even though I'm not a fan of Chinese food, and ordered grilled chicken breasts and broccoli. However, during the last part or orientation I was feeling SUPER hungry and weak. I'm finally going to the doctor's now that I have health insurance. I hope I don't have diabetes. When I get hungry, my stomach growls. LOUDLY. There are no restaurants within a short walking distance of the building where orientation was being held.
So, I marched on over to the banquet that the trainers had set up for us. Cakes, pastries, bagels, sugary toppings, fruits, sugary snacks, etc. All things I can't have on Induction. I thought what I had for breakfast and later lunch would suffice. I was wrong! I scarfed down some fruit and bagels - the healthiest options. I still went WAY over my net carb allowance for the day... and week! However, I'm not going to let that get me down. I will continue on Atkins. But man. I wish I worked at home.
