Lol, JimmieP, don't worry, I'd be happy to tell you all about the shipyards that my mother described to me in excruciating detail for hours while I was trapped in my room. did you know they use 3" steel on the tug boats but only 3/4" steel on the hulls of the barges?

She and the rest of my family went on the tour of the shipyards. The thrilling, two hour tour. That I really am super crushed that I missed.

Got it. So likely you know about the recent bottoming of the Baltic Dry Index? Massive freighter overcapacity means mom can rent her very own Handysize freighter for about the daily rental cost of a new Ferrari in Vegas. Not bad. Surely that would make a Christmas to remember for any ship lover...
