Hi all! I've been a bit quiet on the app lately. Reason being I have not tracked macros for the last month or so. I have been following a handful of things that I have learned while I was tracking. Eating only when hungry, reading the Nutri panel on foods and not over-eating. If you follow me you may know I do not do any exercise - I sit at a desk doing Tech support all day then go home and sit down again.

My initial weight loss has been good and I feel I can keep going with just Diet controlled weight loss, but I think my body is starting to get used to what I'm eating. Next phase is being planned with going back to the gym. I have obtained my gym key from my friend, hopefully will start getting some workouts in soon.

I feel you are doing everything right. I look at the nutri panels too and if anything is high in sugar or carbs I look for another option. I don’t exercise either have a desk admin job and sit all day and night too and still losing 1kg a week on average. Just keep choosing low sugar options and you will be fine. Have fun back in hell… I mean the gym lol 🫣

I don’t think there is a person alive that’s clicked up more hours in front of a computer than me. That is a serious statement as I preceded the PC and was heavily into code before there was any, lol, anyway, trust me when I tell you that you have to stay on top of eating to break hours of intense coding as well as two other golden rules, which are to stand up every couple of hours, walk to the toilet or do something, anything but stand up and walk away. I never did that of course and the last 50 years were crazy, often doing 35 hour sessions straight, no sleep, just toilet breaks. These days there are even more demands on peoples time with social media. The third thing I never did, was look away from the screen regularly. The eyes get tired quicker than the rest of your body and it’s vital to look away and stare at something in the distance, if you’re in a small room, stare at the furthest part of the ceiling and let your eyes fully adjust to that distance for at least a minute every hour. So, DON’T eat just to break up the work you’re doing which could be boring if it’s data entry. Stand up every 2 hours for 3 to 5 minutes and look away for 1 to 2 minutes every hour. I assume you have the right glasses on if you wear them and have your eyes 2 feet from the monitor and 6 inches below your eye line. Pay 💰 whatever it costs to get the best ergonomic chair you can find and if your bum gets numb, buy one of those doughnut 🍩 shaped cushions that truck drivers sit on. I hope some of this resonates with you. I know you will make it 🙏

I think the body likes to hit certain plateaus. You lose a certain amount then the body says “Okay, I’m happy here” and it does everything to try to stay there. The hard part is pushing past these plateaus. An effective way is with intermittent fasting. This seems to drop weight fast. But for sure the best thing of all is exercise, You could do like a set of squats or push ups once an hour on the hour to break up the sitting. Or something fun, like a challenge, like each hour add another 5 squats to the set. Let us know what works for you 🙂
