I started (or RE-started) bootcamp last night. I have to say that it wasn't as hard as its been in the past! I was so pleased with myself. As hard as running on the treadmill for 30 minutes was, as much as I wanted to stop, this time at least I didn't want to DIE. Yes, dieing is what you feel like doing when you're not used to running or even jogging and suddenly you're told to do both for half an hour. I even sprinted at a 7.4!! When I did bootcamp about 8 months ago my running speed was at about a 6.0 and I always lowered it soon after that. My breathing, stamina, and endurance are definitely due to having gone through 3 weeks of spin classes lately. The work on those bikes has helped me a lot.
The second half of the class is strenghthning. Monday is dedicated to arms. Again, I found this easier (not easy! just easiER) because I've been lifting free weights on my own for the last 3 weeks. After spin class I'd take the next half hour to lift weights and do ab work. So even though my arms were super tight, I felt like I had been building up on my own to handle last night's session.
Tonight is another story. Tuesdays are dedicated to butt and legs. This is the hardest day of the week, the one in which you burn the most calories. I dont want to tease myself into thinking tonight will be easy because it wont be. Can't wait!
