Walked 3.1 miles today; DH took the dogs earlier. The warm night breezes have kept us over-warm overnight, so it starts the day off already HOT! It was 88 when I began to walk before 10AM and 92 when I finished. The pool felt great! I may be in it a few more times before the day is over.

DH was out and about earlier and called to say he was bringing home fried chicken for lunch. I opted out of the late breakfast I was just about to start putting together and waited for the chicken. I stripped off as much skin and breading as possible, weighing the pieces first and then weighing what I didn't eat. It's as close an approximation as I can do plus I add some incidental hidden carbs to my food log, again as an estimate. I'll also adjust dinner to accommodate the larger lunch and the peanuts I had eaten to "tide me over."

That's it - no more peanuts for today!!!!!!

So, this won't be the most balanced of days, food-wise, but it should still come out OK. Luckily, this doesn't happen every day. Just have to be able to roll with a few bumps here or there.

I am glad you have the pool to keep you cool! True about rolling with your food today too. We can't always get a perfect balance, in fact I am not sure I have ever achieved that LOL

You did going with the flow of things! Adapt & conquer! Bet you don't need a heater for the pool lately! Glad you have one to cool off with, have a great weekend!

Hi Squiggs...good to see you! Bet it seems odd hearing us complaining about the heat when you really need your heater on right now. Hope you're having a good, stable (!) weekend.

Dar, you're right, we don't need the heater but...I have to confess to turning it on before I go walking so I can boost the temp by a few degrees by the time I get back. Then I turn it off and daytime solar heating does the rest for the rest of the day. Hope you can get some boating in this weekend.

Sandy - I cannot believe you started off walking in 88 degree heat! You must want this bad - I really need to hang around your journal - maybe some of your determination will rub off on me.

Buffy, I know....I think the heat is frying my brain. I should just try to do my exercise in the pool, but can't help thinking that the walking is what will keep my heart healthy for years to come - and one should probably try to take care of one's heart...LOL! But, yes, I do want this bad esp. when the light of the "end" is getting bigger and brighter.

Bren, you could so put a pool on your porch! But could your livestock come up and investigate? So funny just picturing that... Have a great holiday!
