I have spent 3 mos fiddling with my diet and going back and forth, yo yo diet, up and down weight. I believe most of my problem is that I like to drink wine and beer. It does not make sense because I don't always stop when I should and then I feel worse, sleep is not as good,it give me hot flashes, and I look puffy and tired.
For now I am vowing to myself to stop all together. I want to feel good, sleep well, and get my weight to goal and this is just self sabotage!
Today, I woke up feeling good! I slept well. Could have gone to bed a few minutes earlier, but I feel rested and refreshed. Will reread this as needed to remind myself that the temporary enjoyment is not worth the discomforts. Oh, and the weight was down several pounds from two days before. Proof!!

I know the feeling. I used to drink vodka and tonic and wine (not together lol). When i look back I realise it was a habit that I got into. When I got home from work I would immediately pour a drink at least a double - sometimes a treble, and sometimes before I even took my coat off. Nights out one or two was never enough. Nights out I never seemed to know when I had had enough. I broke the habit by exercising as soon as I got in rather than reaching for the bottle, nights out I drove so didn't drink. I now hardly drink at all and can take it or leave it. I enjoy a night out far more and feel healthier than ever before. I realised I was being destructive to my life and body but didn't seem to be able to change. All I can say is good luck, think about why you drink, my reason was a stressful job, I drank to relax (it didn't work, only made me feel worse). Try and eliminate the triggers that make you have a drink.
