Did something tonight that I haven't done in months - go out on a weeknight after work. I know it seems so minor but it's been MONTHS since I've gone anywhere after work particularly on a weeknight. Went to happy hour and parked pretty damn far from the venue so I feel no guilt about the two glasses of wine. :)

Afterwards went to Panera and for once they actually had the calories on the menu board - not sure if they do this all the time now but it was a huge relief as I managed to order the one half sandwich that isn't ridiculously overloaded in calories. Yes, I also had a bowl of cheddar broccoli soup but seriously, yum. Plus, it's freaking cold here and I nearly froze walking around.

Getting out helped my mood a lot. I know things are going to be okay, it's just tough to finish out these last few days at work when I really want to stay

I wish all restaurants would post the calories. That would be fabulous. Your affirmation #3 reminded me of a quote from a video posted by one of my buddies -- "If you're going through hell, keep going!" Attributed to Winston Churchill. I hope things are not that bad for you, Sue.

You know, in NYC it's a law that they have to so it's great to walk even up to a street vendor and see how many calories are in something. It makes it so much easier when you can see what the calories are makes it MUCH easier to make good choices. I go into Manhattan about once a month and between the calories posted on menus and the amount of walking I do there (I don't believe in taking the subway for less than 15 blocks unless it's snowing), I'd probably be in better shape if I lived there. I live in the suburbs though, so I need to drive most places and when it's cold like this it's really easy to be lazy.

Wow, even the street vendors have to post calories? I bet the hotdog cart guys hate that. Although if you're eating hotdogs, you probably don't give a crap anyway!

Eh, one hotdog isn't that bad. I mean, sure it's not the healthiest choice but it's okay if you don't have the giant one and eat a lot of other crap at the same time. Plus as I said I always end up walking at least 20 blocks when I'm in the city anyway (which I should point out is more than I walk at home.)
