I had similar problem this past weekend. Two adult birthday parties - both at pubs. I managed to drink water at both. You can do it!

I dont want to avoid booze or calories....net carbs as I am on the Atkins diet...red wine is my fav and its 3.8 carbs per wine...not worth it when you can only have 20 net carbs a day.
I did succomb but only had one glass of wine...wasnt worth the guilt.
Live and learn huh?

vodka + soda with a twist of lime. Not quite the same at complimenting a steak dinner but allowable on Atkins. that being said, I stay away from alcohol because it slows down the loss. Good luck to all..

Light Bacardi rum and diet coke is only about 2 net carbs but it will stall your weight loss because alcohol will burn out of your system first before fat or carbs. If you're already in ketosis, alcohol will temporarily throw you out of it.

thanks so much for this info everyone...its not worth drinking then if it slows it down. I am only 9lbs from my goal so i dont want to take forever to get there. I will go another full week with zero booze and see what 3 weeks on atkins can do for me! I love all the support, this is a great website.
