I have another foe beside nuts. It is instant oatmeal. I had supposedly given this up a few weeks ago but had one last box at work for "emergency" breakfasts. Apparently I had a lot of emergencies. Box is now gone and I will not be buying another until I reach my goal weight.

I know how you feel... I just said "goodbye" to my nightly small bit of ice cream. Obviously ice cream isn't helping me lose any weight... LOL! Darn it! WTG on "letting go" of the oatmeal. Hugs!

Used to eat alot of that as well..had to quit as it gave me the vapors..LOL..I am taking your advice and going to give up the wheat.. Told DH and he said what ever it takes to help me..he said he would stop pushing foods on me...Now that we will see..he is an expert you know...LOL..have a oatmeal free day...Love ya...:O)

When I want hot "cereal" I mix flax meal with almond flour, or use just flax meal. I add water, stir and microwave it for about a minute. I add almond milk and Splenda mixed with cinnamon. It tastes good to me, reminds me of Wheatina.

Karen - I'd rather have oatmeal than a bagel. But it will be a food I can re-introduce when I'm at my goal - and yes, some day that will happen!

Gigi - Heather had also given me a recipe but I only tried it for the first time today. It was pretty good. Don't see why I couldn't mix it up in packets and bring it to work (like instant oatmeal). I have to be at work at 7 AM and that is way to early for me to eat. Thanks!

I use regular oats and mix in chia seeds. I also add cinnamon. I don't know if that is a better option or not ... have a fabulous weekend!

I just ate one on Friday. Been a long time since I had one. Oatmeal is fairly healthy. It's full of good fats, fiber, and complex carbs. I guess the only bad part is that is has a lot of calories for what it is and if you are on the low carb thing you might be in trouble!!!
