I don't understand why I'm not losing. I ann burning more calories than I intake. I'm getting very discouraged.

Hang in there! It's possible your body is reaching a plateau. I get newsletter's from Jillian Michaels and I remember reading one that said sometimes when a person starts to lose weight their body fights it thinking it needs to "save" the calories. She said if you use variety in your diet, such as having one day with lots of small meals and the next with a higher calorie amount, maybe even slightly higher than your goal calorie allowance, your body should lose the fight or flight reaction when it feels like it's not going into starvation mode. She also said to stick with your diet and exercise routine and if you don't see results in 3 weeks, where your plateau should break on it's own, that you may need to reevaluate. Here are some things to think about. Are you being honest about your food intake? (Some times we start slacking and all those bites, licks and tastes add up). Are you eating too many calories or not enough calories for our current height, weight, sex, age and activity level? You many need to play around with your caloric intake to get losing again. Are you eating too many processed foods? (They contain a lot of sodium and can make some people retain water). Are you getting enough lean protein, lean dairy, fruits and veggies? (Protein and high fiber foods metabolize better than any other food groups to help you lose better). Are you drinking water/liquids? (Water flushes out sodium-you want enough to stay hydrated, but not too much). Are you being active? Exercise can make a difference. If you don't and can, start. If you do, then change up what you are doing. Up your intensity! Up your duration! Try a new class! Switching up your foods and exercise can really help get the scale moving again. Good luck!
