@Lynnerobb1980, I know it's difficult with a lot going on (raising children, etc.). When I looked at your profile, I noticed food diary entries of granola bars. I used to love them and would buy them to have "for the kids," but I could eat whole boxes at a time -- and did. It took me up to 285 pounds at my heaviest, and I'm still paying for every one of those things! Once the kids were grown up, I never bought another box. I had to resolve that they are just not "healthy" or "food" or "weight-loss-supporting" by any measure and didn't belong in my eating "repertoire." In preparation for your weight loss surgery, it might be good to get away from those kinds of "treats."
