Aged 67. I had an acute cardiac event 3 years ago which nearly did for me. I weighed just over 17 stone at the time, I'd been a driver trainer for 20 years and had got into bad eating habits and no exercise, sitting down all day stressed out was a recipe for disaster.So that started my weight loss. I lost 4 stone over the next 3 months low carbing. I had to lose it for a triple bypass operation because my arteries were so bad they could'nt put stents in. Brilliant operation I can recommend it. I now exercise every day either walking or cycling or both. However I have been a bit lax in my eating choices and have put on a stone in the last 2 years, hence joining this site, carbs make you fat no doubt about that. But once I get back into it I know I can lose it again pretty quickly. Just diagnosed as pre-diabetic. Given me 6 months to sort myself out , got to lose at least a stone and double my activity levels. Nothing like a shock to the system to concentrate the mind, so here goes! We are fat because we have no self discipline and keep shoving crap into our faces!! Well now got an Aortic Aneurysm just for good measure, hey ho what next? Good luck to all my readers. Rob
