After I had my first pregnancy, I thought I could eat anything I wanted. WRONG! So, three pregnancies later, I had to lose weight. I tried a few things that lasted less than a week or two until I went to Weight Watchers with a friend. Back then, it was extremely strict & required me to be extremely creative, but I was inspired that I could eat, feel full & satisfied & still lose weight. After reaching my goal weight, I was a Weight Watchers Leader for several years which helped me keep my weight down. As I got older, I found that keeping my goal weight so low was more & more difficult to control. I would go through long periods of eating whatever I wanted & that set a roller coaster pattern. Just before my dad passed over in 2001, he commented that he was concerned for my health because I was so fat. I have to say that he was the only person I have ever know who literally ate to live & never had a weight problem a day of his life. He did, however, have heart disease & colon problems especially at the end of his 94 years. Two days before he died, he walked his 2 miles a day routine, which he never missed after retiring & double-bypass surgery. Me & exercise ... not-so-much. When he died in 2011, I decided I had to do something & I started walking. I lost 35 lbs & did well until a couple of years ago. Working a sedentary job & dating a man who loved to eat in restaurants 4-5 nights a week, I started to pack on the pounds. And here I am: starting this program at the most I've weighed in my entire life & knowing that I must get this under control if I want to continue a long, healthy life! I am doing this myself ... I know enough about the Weight Watchers program to do it in my sleep!! So, out came my recipes along with my burning desire to not only lose weight, but to be stronger & healthier! I can do it, but I can't do it alone! I look forward to being both supportive & supported on FS. Let's do it!!
