It was a difficult week-end. We had 16th Birthday party on Saturday night where the menu was carbs carbs and more carbs. The choices were pizza or pasta. It was a tossup between being rude and offending the hostess, or sucking it up. I chose to suck it up, even though I ate very little.
I woke up literally starving on Sunday morning, and all the aches and pains in my joints (something I have not felt for three months) were back. I was also 700 grams heavier. Probably water retention from the carbs, but, heavier all the same. I tried to fast on Sunday, but I could not. The hunger pangs were driving me literally nuts and I was beyond grumpy. Carb Flu? It was like starting over.
I am convinced. Carbs and sugar, even in moderation, is poison.
