I am losing inches but not pounds but that's ok. I can tell my clothes are fitting better, and my endurance is WAYYYYY better lol. I can do my workouts without shaking as bad so I have begun to kick it up a notch.

That being said, I have not been sleeping well at all. I average between 4-6 hours of sleep a night, and while some may be able to live on that type of sleep schedule, it's becoming quite clear I cannot. I know I am not letting my body recover as it should after working out like I do. I am exhausted but still functioning for the most part, I'm eating healthy, and I'm still exercising, but I know this will catch up with me more and more, so I have got to get some rest.

My husband has suggested drinking a glass of red wine before bed, but I just don't know if I want to do that. If I were to start doing that, what are some good suggestions for wines? I really like sweet red wine, but I don't know if I want all that sugar at night. Sometimes I get heartburn from red wine too, and I don't want to start doing that and end up taking tums with it. Last night I drank a cup of chamomile tea, but even that didn't help like I needed it to.

Something else I've thought of is I always do my most strenuous exercising in the afternoon between 4 and 6 pm. Could it be that I need ti do those exercises earlier in the day?

I am so freaking tired.

Id do some home work as I have read that wine may help you initially fall asleep it will also inhibit staying asleep.

A+ for effort! You could always try a hot toddy too!

What is keeping you up at night? Is it stress related? Are you thinking about something? Are you a light sleeper? Sleep is important for weight loss.

Studies have shown that alcohol initially helps you go to sleep but will interrupt your sleep pattern by causing you to wake up shortly thereafter. But, I still have my vino with dinner.

Hmmm, not so sure I'd go for wine if you're trying to get a good nights rest (and I love red wine). My wife always reads in bed before she shuts out the light, several studies show that reading right before sleeping settles the brain patterns (I used my googling machine). Hope things improve!!

I agree with Judyinfl - red wine will not be a good answer for you. I noticed that when I am gluten, sugar and alcohol free, my sleep improves. Also some good Yoga breathing helps me. Good luck as you find what works for you.

Any alcohol consumed 1-2 hours prior to going to sleep can affect your sleep patterns. I suffer from avid reflux and stayed far away from red wine. Recently a friend with the same condition suggested Melbac wine and this so far is the only red wine that does not cause a flare up for me.

I've started taking magnesium supplements, they help you sleep. Or you can have them in the form of bath salts.

Yes, I've heard that about magnesium too and that it can help with stress/mood. Plus, it helps with restless legs, which can be a problem for refreshing sleep, even while you're allegedly asleep.
