Any one else tracking fiber? It is rather shocking how little fiber there is in a simple green salad (lettuce, tomato, cucumber, onion). I thought there was a lot (my husband would call my salads “all this roughage” 😂), but it’s just some measly 3-4 grams in a pretty large bowl of it. Sheesh, no wonder I used to think fiber was not satisfying. Once I started eating high-fiber stuff: boom, satiety. I’m up to 30 grams of fiber a day now, and along with protein, it really helps with hunger.

Agnes same here and it has worked well for me. Breakfast most days is Greek yogurt with a topping of fruit, nuts and grains, Sometimes I even stir in a little olive oil if need to balance out the rest of the day. One meal generally includes an animal protein and the other bean/legume based both include plenty of vegetables. Three meals each around 500 calories, dense foods for satiety, snacks between meals are rare. Don’t skip meals get your body into a rhythm of fueling up, working the digestive system and a state of rest or recovery. You have done well figuring out what and how you need to nourish your body for weight loss and health. Great job!

Thanks, honeebuns! Your praise of my WOE means a lot for me. I hope to get to 130 lbs, too, and maintain there, as you must have been doing for a while. Knowing that others with similar goals are successful with similar WOE is one more good reason for confidence that my goal is achievable.

Dumb question but what is WOE? When I look it up, it seems similar to Mediterranean diet?

T3r3sa7, its WAY OF EATING. The Mediterranean diet is one. Lots to chose from Keto. Low Fat, Low Carb, Vegan,etc. I try to do intermittent fasting and follow an anti inflammatory diet

Draglist, I noticed that FS includes the fiber in the carbs. Just something perhaps to keep in mind if you’re trying to up your fiber on low carb or keto. I remember from my keto days that net carbs was what mattered (?). There are products that will help you with getting fiber with only a small number of net carbs. For example, these Carb-Savvy Whole Wheat Tortillas from Trader Joe’s I was eating for lunch today. One is 9 carbs but 6 (!) of them are fiber.

T3r3sa, it’s funny—when I joined FS five months ago, I had no idea what WOE meant either. And here I am using the lingo 🤓. I actually like “way of eating” now better that “diet.”

I set my FS macros to track fiber, but I haven't been paying it much attention lately. I've been focused on protein. Thanks for reminding me.
