I don't normally journal twice in one day but I went to the dentist for my TMJ today and he put me on a soft food diet until we can get it all worked out. I'm not really sure how long but weeks to a month for sure. So now I am trying to come up with healthy foods that have good protein that are soft. I am open to any suggestions, escaped tofu, I'm allergic to soy. : (

eggs cooked all ways, some fish fillets are soft, tuna from the can can be smooshed down soft, cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, protein shakes with protein powder...

I love the little Halos...small mandarin oranges. They are soft if you eat a section at a time. Soft cheeses (watch the calories though) or grapes if you cut them in half.

Protein smoothies. You can put so much in them to keep the variety going and add things such as flaxseed to keep you feeling full. I got one of those nutribullets for xmas and have yet to break it out of the box so I was googling different varieties last night... now I'm obsessed with protein shakes.

Protein drink, cottage cheese, yogurt, applesauce, smoothies, mashed potatoes or sweet potatoes, scrambled eggs, custard. I think you can put many of your regular foods into a blender and pulse with a liquid until it is soft and drinkable.

Just wondering - I had TMJ and got braces. No food restrictions, no more ear aches (which were constant), just the braces. The braces realigned my jaw and all was well. Has your dentist considered this?

I don't know. I have another appt on Tuesday and they are going to do x-rays and a mold of my mouth to see what is going on. He was talking about a splint to wear in my mouth to keep my teeth from touching and keep my jaw at a relaxed state.
