Just a heads-up. Jesus would never eat shrimp. He obeyed, and taught others to obey God who states in scripture which living things are permissible to consume. If Jesus had done otherwise, He could not have been our Savior because He would have been living in sin. So it’s ironic that you’d say thanks to Him for you having creatures to consume that He has taught us we are to never eat. But obeying Him seems to be out of favor today with most people and most people aren’t aware of what He does and does not want us to do. For those who do care, once you’ve been told, there is no way to become untold.

Leviticus chapter 11 lists the dietary restrictions God gave to the nation of Israel. The dietary laws included prohibitions against eating pork, shrimp, shellfish and many types of seafood, most insects, scavenger birds, and various other animals. The dietary rules were never intended to apply to anyone other than the Israelites. The purpose of the food laws was to make the Israelites distinct from all other nations. After this purpose had ended, Jesus declared all foods clean (Mark 7:19). Later, God gave the apostle Peter a vision that implied formerly unclean animals could be eaten: “Do not call anything impure that God has made clean” (Acts 10:15). When Jesus died on the cross, He fulfilled the Old Testament law (Romans 10:4; Galatians 3:24-26; Ephesians 2:15). This includes the laws regarding clean and unclean foods.

That shrimp looks amazing!! LOTS of laws in the Old Testament were no longer necessary after Jesus’ death and Resurrection. Just clean the bowel line on the top of the shrimp.

Many of the dietary restrictions in the Old Testament were to protect people in a time when there was no refrigeration for foods. “Judge not, lest ye be judged.”

Wow. To try to chastise someone on a Sunday for thanking God for a meal... I'm sure that would not sit well with Him on any day. The shrimp looks delicious!

@cannjensen maybe you were pertaining to the time and law of Moses? If you would read the other comments above with the sources from the Bible verses wherein Jesus said Himself, they are all correct. I am a Born Again Christian, therefore I am free from that old laws of Moses because of Jesus. The scriptures also said that the law was given through Moses but God’s grace and unfailing love was given through Jesus Christ, and He is my Lord and Savior ❤️ I hope you’ll have a brighter day ❤️❤️❤️

Back in those days, those were the foods that most commonly caused disease. Generally not much of an issue today.
