Oh no, don't be too hard on yourself! Social situations are really challenging where sticking to the plan is concerned. Eating what others eat, and the same amounts is normal. And good food enhances the mood and atmosphere. Even if you go over your calorie budget, it's OK. Go back to your plan asap, whether it's the next meal or the next day. There are things we can do before socialising, such as having a small meal before going out, making snacks to take with you etc, and then things we can do while out-eat slowly, tell someone supportive that you don't want food forced on you (we all have those people who are saying "you've gotta have this! At least try it, one won't hurt" etc) who can back you up when you say no to the extra cake or whatever. Be kind to yourself and keep at it, change is hard and it takes time.
