Woot! FINALLY under 120 kg. First "major" mini goal achieved. Next mini goal 110kg. So happy with myself. 20 kg lost in 4 months. Exactly 4 months ago since I was diagnosed with diabetes. In that time I have brought my blood sugar levels down from super high 16 A1c to normal, in the words of the dietician, I've effectively reversed the disease. My blood pressure has come down as well - was 150/120 now down to almost normal ( need to have a check up this week, hoping it will be down enough to come off meds). Also hoping my cholesterol will have come down sufficiently too. Am riding at least and hour a day now, sometimes 2 depending on how I go. My knees are hurting so I went and bought some strapping tape today - hoping that helps as I am really enjoying this form of exercise - much more than I do, say, walking. And I know me - if I enjoy it, I'm much more likely to remain committed to it. I may have to ease off the riding for a week or so and hit the pool again if my knees don't improve though. Bit frustrating. Hopefully this strapping will do the trick for me.
