Renovation madnesssssss central. Just when you think you can handle the chaos the ante is upped a notch to test you .... yesterday, our most important alternative cooking tool revolted and stopped working. The microwave chose yesterday morning to die. Since we have no stove, it has been working overtime and I guess it could not handle that much action. OY VE! I spent yesterday morning running to several stores trying to make a decision on which microwave to buy (bigger or much bigger, cream or black or stainless steel, brand? cost?). I finally settled on a stainless steel 1.6 Cu Ft. Danby. Forget the fact that I did not plan to purchase a new microwave - I am just bleeding money now so another couple hundred is neither here or there when you are desperate! So on to today's weigh-in ... 196 lbs and holding (I know this game now - I am in my stall and go, stall and go phase again). Not bothered a bit ... I will hold fast to my low carb eating regardless!
What is it about stress that makes us eat crap??? I was feeling so overwhelmed yesterday, I caved and bought an atkins treat (the smarties "like" ones). I ate some and I have to tell you ... I was GASSSSSY all night long into this morning! Bloated beyond belief. I know it's the sugar alcohols(and I sort of knew it before I bought the stuff :( ). I thought I had steel-toed willpower these past few weeks, but it ebbed a bit this week under the strain of chaos. I REGRET buying and eating that garbage. I need to completely avoid it ... I really do. It would have been better to have one of my fat bombs but of course, this "attack" happened when I was out and hungry/angry. Atkins sweets really are not for everyone and when you know you are sensitive to sugar alcohols (malitol in this case) steer clear. It doesn't matter that it's low carb - my body told me that it doesn't like it so I should avoid. First weekend without a kitchen (kids will be home all day and meals will be required) - should be interesting! Have a great day friends!!!
