It has honestly been an unbelievable crush of activities and my journaling had to be put on the back burner (expected). All the details related to the renovations is one thing, but preparing the house by moving everything out of the kitchen, has been the most challenging. It turned into a major purge that spilled out into other parts of the house such as the basement. I have been working night and day on this. Many trips to donate items to the thrift shop and discard items at the waste center. it's hard to believe how many things we accumulated and worse than that, we were not using many of them. Conspicuous consumption at it's best ... sadly. The old kitchen cabinets and old appliances are out now. The new cabinets arrived early (by 2 weeks ... how???) and has taken over a lot of the free space in the living room. Hrrruumppp .. claustrophobia... ever so slightly!

We are making it work with take out/salads/microwaving (ever made scrambled egg in a microwave? I can say I have now) - I have been eating a lot of roasted chicken and salads. Bullet proof coffee every day. I have no stove but I do have my old fridge set up in the dining room. We will be living like this for the next three weeks while the construction progresses. Electricals tomorrow. Tear out of the flooring and new porcelain install all next week. All new appliances arrive on Nov. 14th. Cabinet install week of Nov. 17th. Countertops will have to wait another 10 days after that for install because they have to cut it from the quartz slab after finalizing the measure of the cabinets. OMG - I have never been so exhausted and anxious in a long time. It's almost like I am living on the edge of a great big hole that will swallow me up at any given moment if I do not maintain perfect balance. But I know this too shall pass.

Interestingly, I have been very focused on my low carb eating in all of this (it's the only thing I feel I can control right now). This week has been particularly good as I am now eating in alignment with my RDI instead of overeating (even though it may be the allowed foods). I have struggled to get back to Ketosis since the Summer I (was still overeating through September and not resting enough and dealing with sad things) and I finally got there since the renovation madness started - the irony is not lost on me.

It'll be worth it when it's finished. I'd love to renovate my kitchen. Do you know how to post pictures? I'd love to see the CHAOS and the after.

Been there, done that, not nearly as good as you! I love that you feel in all the "madness", you feel "the only thing you can control" is the way you are eating :)

DB: I've never posted pictures ... I can learn :) TIC: Eating simply and focused is keeping that part of me sane - bonus is it's helping me drop some weight! :)
