Seven hours of interrupted sleep, with one wide-awake episode, but I fell asleep again. Stayed up way too late because of this and that.

The second pair of Fat Gripz arrived and I installed them on the Sunny Air Walk Trainer. Nine minutes of stretching in bed. Eight minutes on the trainer first thing in the morning to burn off glycogen. Thirty-one minutes of leg exercises on and around the chair with 1 1/4 pound ankle weights, 23 minutes of leg exercises on the mat, all with two sets of 10 reps each. Cardio: 50 minutes on the Air Walk Trainer, 420 steps.

Tension in my back. Twenty-four minutes of guided meditation and a half hour nap helped.

Put the C9 by Champion dumbbells on Freecycle yesterday after cleaning them up because the Fat Gripz don't fit on them. They got picked up today. I'm now using the regular five-pound dumbbell bars and leaving the Fat Gripz on. Will use them on all dumbbell exercises and the Sunny Air Walk trainer. I may try the two-inch Iron Bulls grips next month because they might be a better fit for my small hands, but I will give the Fat Gripz a try first.

The EatSmart bathroom scale arrived. It's larger than I thought it would be and pretty hefty. I can't use it on carpet. So much for my plan to place it in the home office. I'm glad that I'm gradually adding better tools in my journey towards better health. Based on my reading of the instruction booklet, I've been doing body fat readings at the wrong time. For most accurate weight measurement, weigh yourself first thing in the morning (I already knew that). For the most accurate body fat, muscle and bone mass readings, weigh yourself in the evening before eating. Drink a glass of water an hour before taking a reading, and take a reading at the same time each day and drink the same amount of water. According to the manual, water is concentrated around your torso first thing in the morning and disperses throughout your body during the day.

I did my first weigh-in and all the readings were within normal parameters, but the body fat reading was 7.2, which way out of range. It makes me question whether I made a mistake buying the scale and makes me wonder whether I should have gone for broke and got a Tanita. For $14 more, I could have gotten an Omron with more measurements. I will call customer support and see if there's something that I'm missing.

The EVA anti-fatigue interlocking mats arrived. I put two of them under the Genuine Joe anti-fatigue mat next to the standing desk to add another layer of comfort. I may put some more under the equipment mat to add some comfort and sound insulation or I may use them in the home office as a mat for the chair.

The Nook HD+ is still crashing. I did another hard reset and will now install only one app at a time. Right now, I think it's The Washington Post app. Alternatives are to take it into Barnes & Noble and see if they will replace it or put Android Kit Kat 4.4 on it.
