Don't know what your craving is for, but could it be you need more sodium? Glad you are excited about going to the gym, and I hope your visit to the doctor resolves the problem with your foot and leg cramps. Have a great day.

I have a sign on my fridge. "Are you REALLY hungry or do you just WANT to eat?"

Eddie has a good point: you are really hungry or not?? When I have a craving (without being able to pinpoint what I want) it is generally an indication that I need to drink more water (sodium or other salts…)!!! Try drinking a glass of water or two and see how it goes.

I also have those thoughts. I want to eat something, anything but I know that I'm not hungry. It's just the way we used to be. We got fat because we ate whenever we wanted and whatever we desired. In time our brain will get the message that those days are over.

physiatrist? I think those are the form guys. Or kinesiologist? Form is the most important focus in exercise.

Jenn, you can fix that. Don't watch the cooking shows. You aren't going to cook those meals anyway. Watch Mike Holmes and see if makes you want to build a deck or drywall....

I think a lot of us eat out of boredom I still catch myself falling into then I have to get up and do something so I don't put food in me mindlessly

Yay for getting revved up to go to the gym! It seems that whenever you go, you really feel good about what you did there. Hope today is just as happy-making! Fingers crossed for the neuro appt.

Wow good for you about figuring thing out I know for me TOM is my biggest thing to fight. So O don't stress it too much as it sometimes makes it worse for me but if I'm strict I find that I do lose more around then though it's hard to say no to a craving. As for your leg I hope they can tell you something. It sounds like it's some kind of spasm. I hope you can get it worked out. Good luck and good on you. Maybe just avoid the food channels.

Identifying our triggers is a huge step toward them no longer triggering us to eat -- good job, my good friend! xoxox

With any disorder there are varying degrees. Agreed on that point? Eating for any reason than hunger is a mild form of eating disorder. I had one for years and didn't know it (or like anybody in denial, wouldn't admit it). Eating because your are bored or because there is nothing else to do or because everybody else is... those are all mild eating disorders. Eating because you are bored means you need a hobby. Eating because there is nothing else to do is simple to fix. Do something. Do you know how to play the piano? Why not start? That will give you something else to do. If that is why you eat bad food, you can fix that with a cheap $50 keyboard from Craigslist. Read a book. Take a walk. Brush your dog. Knit a scarf. Sew. Take on a hobby project you have been ignoring. There are SO many things to do to avoid taking on fuel you will not burn before you go to sleep. And all of the excuses are just that. Excuses. Reasons in your mind to not lose weight. Anybody on this planet can lose weight. Or learn a new craft. Or do anything they want to do. It just depends on how badly you want it. You can keep telling yourself that 6 cookies, or a bowl of ice cream, or a small fries instead of a large is not going to hurt your progress. That is denial defined. That is not wanting it bad enough. I have a knee that needs replacement. It hurts like hell to walk. But I also want to eventually hit 225 pounds. That means I have to walk to elevate my heart rate, to get air moving in and out to oxygenate my blood stream, all to stimulate my metabolism. I can stay fat and my knee won;t hurt, or my knee can hurt for 30-35 minutes a day and I can lose weight. Not a hard choice. How bad do YOU want it?
