190 lbs is sticking around! In fact, I saw the scale tipping just below the 190 but not quite there yet so I recorded 190 lbs (I only record whole numbers and err on the conservative side). It's great to be moving down but I must confess that these days I am not panicked when I see a major shift in the scale upwards. I know what I am doing and what I have to do. Any overindulgence is correctable and the key thing is not to over-indulge for days on end. I have also noticed that since Summer started (this is my first Summer on low carb) I have been able to increase my carbs and mix up my diet a bit more while still achieving good results. I don't know if it is because I am more active or mixing things up help to move forward, but I have been doing higher carbs (even up to 100) and I am still shrinking which is great. Here's the gotcha, gotcha for me: Over-indulgence is not about consuming cakes, pies, fast foods and other high calorie/high carb foods without discretion. It is about having a little more of the good wholesome foods that are available to nourish our bodies. I always keep this in mind. I plan, very carefully, my consumption of sweets (only on special occasions and only once in a blue moon) and that has been so helpful. I think this is the key! There is so much good food to fill up on out there so I refuse to gorge on "empty calories" - my body has been so thankful for this. I swear I rolled back at least a decade since I started this journey ... I felt like I had one foot in the grave before (the aches, the pain, lack of energy ... I felt old). All that has changed... the body is so forgiving and I am so thankful!

If you up your "fats" you will stay satiated longer. If you find yourself gaining you are eating too many carbs, cut back about 15g for a week or two to see if that will get you moving again. Remember, fat does not make you fat...it is the starchy carbs we load up on that remains in our system, makes us feel hungry and then we overdo it.
