I feel tired... Is this because I tried to really watch what I ate yesterday and took a break from working out? Most likely. I am so used to at least putting in thirty minutes of vigorous activity each day, and most days an hour, and I believe my body is becoming more used to that energy level than it is to the rest I tend to have on Thursdays. I am about to put in an hour-long workout video and start my workout week over again.

My greatest fear for this week is that I will gain some of this tremendous week's loss back. I am going out of town tomorrow through next week Thursday morning. I will most likely not have the time to enter in my calories and exercise each day and I will, at best, have 30 minutes to myself to run each morning. I got smart and planned ahead for most of my meals, including making the family I'm staying with some salt-free homemade spaghetti sauce and baked tofu. I also packed six separate snack bags of an ounce of nuts, two tubes of string cheese, and two prunes. When I need a meal, I will take out my wonderfully balanced and healthy snack bag and eat from that. And if someone makes fun of my healthy meals, I will remind them that I haven't lost these 37 pounds by running to McDonald's every time I'm hungry!

I am looking forward to this trip away. I love my family dearly, but being away for a few days will hopefully stimulate my spirit a little and allow me to return with some weight off my shoulders. My college choir is singing the Brahms German Requiem, this hour-long choral and orchestral piece, and I am just DYING to get to work. Many of these people have not seen me since I have lost weight, so it will be musically rewarding as well as a happy surprise for my close friends. I am listening to the Robert Shaw Chorale sing the piece on a CD in my kitchen stereo, and this alone, as well as writing my plans for the week on this site, are making my energy return!
