Once a month a lady comes to my classroom and does a nutrition and exercise lesson. She always brings a small snack with her for the kids to try. Today's snack was sunflower seed butter. It was pretty good. It has about the same amount of calories and protein as peanut butter but a great option if you are allergic to nuts. Try it sometime.

Also today i decided to cut back on my soda intake. I usually have one with lunch and today I did not. As the day had gone a long my head has started to hurt more and more. So when I came home I opened a can of Dr. Pepper, poured it into a glass and promptly poured half down the drain. I drank the other half and my head ache is just about gone. Hoping tomorrow will be even better.

Yep, I drink a lot of coke zero, ok from a calories perspective but probably not the greatest thing to drink...

When I cut soda/high fructose corn syrup from my diet in August I had a non-stop headache for about 4 days. It gets better. :)

Could be the caffeine too i get a headache when i miss my morning coffee.

Wayne, i hope it doesn't last 4 days! I finally broke down and took some tylonol, it has helped.

@lenny: Yes, it sucked. We dropped soda/HFCS, white bread/enriched flour, and refined sugar all at once, and bodies definitely rebelled!

Sugar is definitely a powerful addictive! I had headaches when quitting sugar but they were mild and only lasted two days (if I remember correctly). I started drinking more water but I don't know if that really had a positive effect or if it was just coincidence that those headaches stopped.
