I failed. Horribly. I had good intentions; I put the chicken in to thaw, started the oven... then my hunger got the best of me and I binged on 3 cookies. I won't beat myself up; tomorrow is a new day to strive to do better.

3 cookies is a horrible fail!?!?! I'm at 50 carbs a day and have been at 20 so I know low carb isn't 3 cookies but.... you haven given up. You are not condeming yourself. You will do good!

Thank you knorris. Ok, maybe 3 cookies isn't as big a fail as I feel it is. It's just that when I set my mind to NOT eating those damn things, and then I do, it's an epic fail in will-power.

I use to have a problem with binge eating. It stopped when I abandoned (slowly buy surely) processed foods. There are chemical compounds in processed foods that make you want to have even more...they act like a sort of drug. One of the things I did was incorporating more natural foods, as if you eat better, your body will no longer have cravings for junk. Add in instead of substracting. And eventually, all your food intake will be good. My problem is portion control and a bit too much on the sweets (fruits) and a penchant for wine... (yikes)...If you want a buddy, I'd love to hear from you. I think we may be somewhat of neighbors, as I also know Kirkland's Signature brand, and Canadien...Best!

My new dietary intolerances are a blessing in a way. All that processed junk I'm addicted to makes me quite sick. I can't even eat brown rice pasta any more, and even long grain white rice (in abundance) upsets my stomach. I've been forced into a new diet of whole and natural foods, as long as they're starch free. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the foods just not all the prep time, cooking, and resulting dish mess. Throwing a frozen pizza into the oven is far easier, lol. I'm doing my best with the binge eating. Mere months ago I would have inhaled the whole box of cookies and spent the night hugging the toilet as a result. In regards to the statement you made on addictive chemical compounds, it's quite disturbing to me that I can be so addicted to something that is obviously so toxic to my system. It's like the rat eating the poison, vomiting, then coming back for more. The saddest thing of all is when I actually stick to a low starch, high protein diet I feel so much healthier and livelier. My energy levels boost, my GI settles, apparently I "glow" , my mood levels out AND I get outside as much as I can. I feel so vibrant and alive, then I fall back into the trap of processed junk and I feel like crap again. But I broke this cycle once, I can do it again. Will-power. I need to relocate it :p

high protein, low carbs will help a lot with your diet goals. It's the sugar that makes the cravings... You have to look at some types of foods as drugs. I do. I know that there's a reason I 'can't have just one' it's because its manipulated by the food industry. 60 minutes had a special on it, I think it was called the 'Flavorists'.... take it one day at a time... if you need to talk, i'm often online. But even though I have not reached my goal, I have come a long way in abandoning processed foods... and I know, you're right, it's long and ardous to cook. But, maybe you can take some shortcuts, ie, buying already peeled, or frozen veggies - add exerices, it calms cravings down....

We already buy broccoli in a bag, baby carrots and frozen veggies. Huuuuge saver. Also pre-washed spinach and lettuce. We buy meats in bulk but I pre-package them before freezing so all I have to do is pop one in the nuker to defrost then bake it. I've thought about baking all the meat at once, then freezing in individual baggies. Even easier that way :p I also make my own beef jerky to use as a quick snack... carb free :) The biggest problem with me is I can't stand at the stove and cook, so everything needs to be baked unless the bf cooks it. And prep work needs to be done on the couch with a tray on my lap. Sitting in a normal chair is painful after awhile so doing it at the table is not going to happen. And honestly, my biggest hurdle right now is the fatigue. I get so unbelievably fatigued I just wanna pig out on carbs. Which is a quick fix but makes me worse in the end, I know. Flavourists... I bet YouTube has it :)
