Just a quick journal entry before I head out into the sauna that is our weather today. It seems like DH and I just did the lawn, but it's long again and I should probably take advantage of a somewhat drier day.
Although hot and humid, at least it's not raining (yet)! Dogs and I got out for our walk this AM, even in the heat that was already there. Neither went the entire way with me, as the heat is too much for them - IMO.
Since we've had all this rain, we've seen a few more critters than we usually do. The other day, we saw a bunny in someone's yard (dogs VERY interested!!) and a large turtle crossing a quiet, cul-de-sac road. Luckily, it was across the street by the time we left that area, so it was safe from even the super-light traffic that might go by. Then, right after the rain let up, I fished a snake out of the pool (harmless one I netted and deposited over the fence). Yesterday, it was a baby frog swimming that also needed to be netted and relocated over the fence. Gosh, I just thought....I hope the frog didn't become the snake's lunch!!! They were a few days apart, so hopefully, both have gone along their merry ways.....AWAY from my property! LOL!
Anyone notice that summer's over? The weather says otherwise, but the stores are all done with summer. Beach towels, sand toys, grills, plants, shorts, swimsuits, etc. are all on clearance and the colors of any displayed items are changing over to fall colors. School supplies are coming out too. A couple of teachers were overheard in a store being astonished that the back-to-school stuff is out, as they've barely been out of school for a month! Hard to think about going back so soon.
Tomorrow is a shopping day for me - YAY!! Pure joy! I have a broken gold chain to go into a jewelers for repair and then I'm off to the Hallmark store for Christmas ornaments. Seems a bit early and perhaps silly, but I like those kinds of things. I invited DH to go along, but for some reason, he said no - LOL! Or maybe he said, just shoot me now? - can't remember. LOL!
