I placed my usual grocery order at HEB today, earliest delivery is Wednesday; that's very unusual. I, too, an wondering how much of my order I'll receive.

Thanks tatauu and shirfleur - hope you get all the groceries you ordered! My sister went to the grocery store today and said it was crowded but plenty of food, although they were almost out of toilet paper and low on meat and produce. Wonder why people always stock up on toilet paper? I guess I always have a good supply of household items so focus on canned foods in times like these.

They of course had no Kleenex or toilet paper. Got all the fresh stuff I ordered.
I also keep a supply of things also. I really have no clue on the toilet paper. How many rolls can you really use 48 rolls of tp in a 2-4 weeks?

I couldn’t find a single bag of brown rice at all, not TP, no anti bacterial soap, only a couple boxes of pasta on the top shelf in the back (thank god Im 5’8’’)

This may be considered by many as base less and not on fact. My thoughts are that the recent run on TP and other necessary household items is because the American public has always prioritized their finances on wants over needs. We are a instant satisfaction materialistic country. So now we are seeing a shift in how people prioritize.... in the case of this situation people are realizing always having TP on hand is a need and not a want. Hope this makes sense. Stay safe !

PS. And the average person does not want to haul home or be seen with a 24 roll pack of TP in their shopping cart so they purchase in smaller amounts more frequently. TP is one of the few items that people run out of in their home and have to make a trip to the store. What you are seeing now is people realizing that that is an item they need to have more on hand to make less of those trips to the store. Just my two cents.

CCC I have no problem throwing in the Jethro size of tp and paper towels at Sam's. I keep plenty on hand. Also cleaning supplies.
