There are ways of eating that allow you to eat most of the same foods that others eat while also including foods more specific to your own needs. Portion control and moderation. If you can master that concept, are not an out of control binge eater, you will never really have to “diet”. You can also cook in a way that you learn to substitute one ingredient for another that slightly decreases the calorie, fat and or carb count of a meal. Most men will never notice. It takes a little creativity and knowing how to cook to bring out the maximum flavor of your food. Roasting your vegetable, not just boiling or steaming the life out of them, for instance, and learning to use some of the wonderful spices and herbs that are available to us.. I make my own spaghetti sauce using just a little hamburger and adding eggplant, tofu and or a Mexican green squash. My BF likes squash but would not eat eggplant or tofu if he knew what he was eating, but he doesn’t and he now prefers my ghetti sauce to going out to eat.

Yeah! What the GA Peach said! Just like I was raised at home. You come to a table where food has been prepared for you to eat, you eat and be thankful. Then and only then.... Hey lover, you know how I like....? Can you make that again soon? Home cooked meals is not a single person decision. Input input, but eat what’s on the table or go to bed hungry. The choice is yours! 😇

I agree. If people do not like what I cook they can cook for themselves. But yes I often tell family what I am thinking in advance and we may adjust some things.

I'm lucky my hubby eats salads & whatever else I prepare and enjoys them. As long as his portion is filling for him, he's happy. I do keep in mind foods he doesn't care for. Occasionally he'll ask for something additional like potatoes that I hadn't planned on cooking. If it fits in with my plan I'll add that ingredient. I don't have to eat it if I don't want to. Or I can eat a smaller portion.
