So it's one month to the day that my girlfriend and I started Medifast/TSFL and today I'm officially down to 249 lbs, which is a 21 lb loss from my official starting weight of 270 lbs.
Doing some math, it seems that my loss has averaged around a little over 0.65 lbs per day, which is just an itty bit higher, but on par with Medifast study results for males (listed here: http://www.medifast1.com/about/medical_information.asp) that wound up averaging 0.6 lbs per day (64.71 lbs ÷ 16 weeks ÷ 7 days = 0.601875).
Suffice it to say I'm happy with the program, and TSFL is making a believer out of me. The 5-and-1 program is pretty simple and very easy to follow: no worrying about what to eat for 5 out of 6 meals, and then just simple guidelines for the lean & green meal. One thing I've learned so far is a newfound appreciation for nutrition facts. lol The checkups from the health coach are helpful, as are all the other support and assistance avenues TSFL provides.
I still weigh myself more or less every day and have no desire to change that. Weight fluctuates on a daily basis, I understand that, and it's not a de-motivator to me or something that's going to make me question the program if my weight is up for a day or two before it starts dropping again; I simply look at it as an indicator. Now if my weight was to consistently keep going up for three or four days in a row, then I'd have an indication that I might be doing something wrong and that I'd need to evaluate and make adjustments. Perhaps if I'd kept better track of my weight, I wouldn't have let myself balloon back up again in the first place.
