Walked my last 3.6 miles for the 100-Mile Challenge today...2.6 this AM and the LAST mile just now.....WOO HOO!!!!! (I may never walk again in my life....LOL!) All of the 100 miles was true exercise over and above any day-to-day walking. My Week 4 final total was 24.3 miles and the challenge total was exactly 100.0 miles (why do any more?).
To celebrate this achievement of walking 100 miles in the last 4 weeks, I just may not do any exercise walking tomorrow....or, if I do, I won't set myself up to walk any pre-determined length.
This has been an interesting challenge. My typical walking these days is slightly over 3 miles, 6 days a week. To keep a day off, this challenge required me to walk about 4.2 miles per day, 6 days per week. The extra mileage made me much hungrier and I could definitely feel some wear and tear on my muscles and hip joints. I'm happy to see the end of the challenge and I'll be VERY happy to dial down the mileage.
