"I'm right, you're wrong. Let me make you feel dumb." And in the end, nobody changes their minds. So let's do things differently. First, I don't care if your mind doesn't change. This is an assessment of where IIFYM (If It Fits Your Macros) started and where it went wrong. If you want to eat crappy food and count it up on an app, have at it.

I liked the line "The human body doesn't work the same way as a calorimeter." Lots of similar statements could be made. The body does not work like a combustion engine. No two bodies work alike. The body works differently this year than last decade. Etc.

yes my body totally worked differently when I was younger totally different story in my 40's and changed again in my 60's

Not sure his context of competition is where most folks are headed. Not sure going from 20% to 10% body fat is easy...but meh, I am also not cycling steroids so there we are.

The only time he mentioned contest prep is #3, the rest is how IIFYM got bastardized into "flexible dieting". See IIFYM issues 1, 2, & 4 again. Steroids was never mentioned and one would think if you were on steroids, you could eat even more shitty for choices.

I saw coaches and competitors somewhere and started to glaze over it. His style is amusing. One way or another you'll probably be obsessing about something if you cut, bulk, or just count.
