3.1 miles walked this morning; 1.7 miles of it with DH and the doggies. It's warm, extra-humid and a bit breezy from time to time, courtesy of Hurricane Isaac wa-a-ay to our west.
This morning, we undid some of our hurricane preparations, fished the plastic chairs out of the pool, and set up the pool filtration schedules again. I'm aware that summer is quickly coming to a close, so I'd better use the pool while I can.
Unfortunately, the thrift store was set up to be closed today, so even though there's now no weather-related reason it couldn't be open, it will not be. I miss going there. On Monday, the other day I'd consider working there, it will be Labor Day and, again, it will be closed.
I went out to run a few errands this afternoon. One of the local stores had chicken leg quarters on sale and I like to stock up when the price is good. Their supply truck, however, coming through the hurricane-affected area, hadn't made it in today so the had no leg quarters. They anticipate having them tomorrow afternoon.
I'm working hard to stay on a reasonable eating plan today and not veer off into Peanut Butter and Whipped Cream Land. I have the ability to do what I need to do as long as I have a stern talk with myself and exercise the discipline I need to. No one's forcing me to eat the other items and I'm certainly not in any danger of starvation, so there's no reason to go down that road.
