Walked 3.8 miles this morning! DH and I had to go to Walgreen's and, after clocking it with the car's odometer, I walked back home. It was a great change of scenery! When crossing one of the bridges, I looked out over the water and was delighted to see a whole pod(??) of DOLPHINS frolicking in the water....and I didn't even have to buy a ticket for a Dolphin Cruise! Wow! I had heard that sometimes they were in that area, but mostly thought, oh, yeah, right. But there they were....what a sight!

On the other side of the coin, nearer my home, I came upon nature's Waste Management franchisee.....a buzzard beginning to clean up on a dead opposum. Pretty amazing critter!

Everyone's watching Isaac and doing their preparations. We're awfully darn close to a landfall target right now, but that's always subject to change. Today, I did my weekly grocery shopping early and I've never seen so many cases of water in grocery carts! And....gas for the car??? Well...my usual station had only premium left, which I passed up, believing it would still be easy to get gas elsewhere. WRONG! One station was just finishing up roping off their pumps as I drove up and 2 other stations were also completely out of gas. I drove to a nearby community (where the Walgreen's is, ironically) and the second station I tried had gas, so I filled up. It looked like a contractor of some sort was there filling up gas container after gas container....probably anticipating difficulty getting gas after the storm passes, if electricity is out and pumps can't work. Hopefully, the stations can get refilled on Monday so anyone who needs gas can get it then.

In the meantime, DH tested out our own chainsaw, so it's all ready to go if we should need it. Other preparations continue. We'll probably be good/safe until mid-Tuesday on into Wednesday and then it's anyone's guess right now as to exactly how strong Isaac will become and exactly where the center will come ashore. Until then, we're enjoying sunshine, warm temps, and the POOL!!!

What a beautiful sight! You sound so calm in preparation of your visitor. think I'm more worried than you are. Very glad you got your gas and supplies. Please take care.

Thanks Buffy. I'm getting more worried with each passing hurricane update. Our neighbor came over to give us some of his tips, and that included strapping down the outside part of the air conditioner system....WHAT???!!! Hope Isaac calms down (a LOT!) before heading your way.
