On Tuesdays we take the Kiddo's at work hiking. It usually is about 3-4 mile hike in the forest up in mountains behind our town. It's a great hike, good exercise for the kiddo's and I appreciate it the extra workout and getting paid for it is a plus. Last week as we were hiking we came as close to a family of coyotes as I care to get and today was even scarier. I usually walk in back to make sure that all the kids are keeping up, handle bathroom breaks, ties shoes, hand out band aids etc. Today I almost stepped on a rattlesnake. How we got 16 kids and 3 adults through that I will never know. The first 15 kids and adult didn't even see it. I heard it, then I yelled "rattlesnake, move now" and pushed the person in front of me. I'm not sure even now that my pulse has returned to normal. So thankful we made it back to our center without any further problems.
